Once positioned over pipes, the collars form a water tight rupture proof seal. The enhanced elastic recovery and high tensile strength properties of the collars protect the seal against substrate or force generated movement during the life of the waterproofing system. To position the collar in place, the diameter of the pipe is first measured. A circular cut is made in the centre of the collar at 60-70% of the pipes diameter, e.g. if the pipe is 100mm diameter, a circular cut of 60-70mm is formed in the centre of the collar. The collar is then slid over the pipe and positioned in place to the substrate. The surface of the collars consists of a polyester fleece that is designed to be embedded into Emer-Proof water-based liquid membranes that are used as part of the application. The fleece should be embedded into the liquid membrane once the rubber collar is in position, ensuring full adhesion to the substrate.
