Suitable for forming joints in concrete pavements subject to light vehicle traffic (driveways, bikeways and footpaths). Description Multi-functional galvanised steel stay in place formwork system for forming expansion joints in bikeways and footpaths. Made up of keyjoint with a 5 mm closed cell polyethylene foam attached, allowing some expansion of concrete giving a cost efficient expansion joint system.Also available with a permanent Rip-A-Strip capping or a removable block capping as an optional extra. Set up work area, placing a string line along joint line. Set string line at height of floor level. Lay Keyjoint along this line (if capping used, allow for this height when setting up string line. Step 2. Drive first stake through small oblong hole near end of Keyjoint, ensuring flat section of stake is in line with flat section of hole. Place Keyjoint along string line and rest on the ground. Step 3. Hammer stake 10 mm below height of Keyjoint in first hole of Keyjoint length. Repeat same in last hole in Keyjoint length (4 stakes per 3 m length recommended). Step 5. Add joining clip if joining two or more Keyjoint lengths. Step 6. Line up capping to edge of Keyjoint and press over top edge. Continue pressing capping firmly over rest of Keyjoint length. Step 7. Now ready to pour slab. Note: if using removable capping after slab is poured, remove top edge of capping on same afternoon slab was poured. Step 4. Return to first stake. Raise Keyjoint to height of slab or string line. Twist stake 90˚ to lock Keyjoint in place with pliers or spanner. Repeat this at last hole and continue to drive rest of stakes in place.
