Ignitability (0 - 20): 0 Spread of flame index (0 - 10): 0 Heat evolved index (0 - 10): 0 Smoke index (0 - 10): 3 Design Criteria Emer-Clad Firecheck is designed to be applied by brush, roller or airless spray over a selected primer, to achieve dry film thickness of not less than 350 microns in two coats on vertical surfaces. To achieve correct protective properties Emer-Clad Firecheck must be applied to substrate at coverage rates recommended. Description A single component, high solids acrylic copolymer coating applied over a range of primers dependent on substrate type. Dramatically reduces spread of flame and ignitability of surfaces to which it is applied. It has excellent weather, chemical and wear resistance and provides an elastomeric film that withstands substantial movement. Specification Clauses Fire retardant elastomeric protective coating The fire retardant elastomeric protective coating shall comprise a suitable primer system overcoated with Emer- Clad Firecheck a single component elastomeric coating suitable for application by brush, roller or spray. Total dry film thickness shall be not less than 350 microns. The coating shall pass AS 1530 Part 3 when tested for ignitability, spread of flame, heat evolved index and smoke developed index. Application Instructions Surface preparation Before using Emer-Clad Firecheck, it is important to ensure surface which it is applied is clean, dry and free from dust and loose material. All contaminants such as oil, grease, fungi, stain or any surface laitance to be removed to ensure adequate development of bond when coating is applied. Priming Concrete, render, brick, masonry, fibre cement panels: Thoroughly clean down surfaces by stiff brush, scraper, etc., to remove all laitence, dirt, dust or other contamination to leave sound, clean, dry surfaces free from all residues. Use Emer-Patch Smooth patching compound to fill minor cracks or level the surface. Fill “non-moving” cracks and joints with acrylic gap filler. Moving joints should be sealed with Emer-Seal MS. Do not use polyurethane based sealants. Prime: One coat of Emer-Acrylic Sealer or Emer-Coat Clear Sealer. Damp surfaces - entrapped moisture: Seek technical advice from Parchem. May 2013
