EA Young Drivers Programme An EA Young Drivers Programme has been instigated nationally, with NSW being one of four states across Australia participating. Young drivers are being groomed for this Programme, with an upper age limit of 30 years of age. This programme will deliver accredited Australian Sports Commission Courses – Introduction, Level 1 and 2 Personal Carriage Driving Skills and Horse Management. Young drivers on this programme will become part of the growth of this equestrian discipline within Australia. An exciting idea as part of this programme is to have participants involved in a visit to the Unicorn Trust in the United Kingdom which will include a structured workshop. The Unicorn Trust is a private charitable trust and runs a similar programme in England. It caters for young drivers as well as those drivers that are less able-bodied. Overall, it has been a year of growth and excitement across New South Wales for the sport of carriage driving, and 2013 is shaping up to be even better! Max Pearce Cathy McCoy 2 3 29
