Horse Driving Trials Club The Horse Driving Trials Club covers a large portion of Northern NSW, having sub groups in Casino, Grafton, Coffs Harbour, Armidale, Inverell, Moonbi and Bingara. This club had many planned activities throughout the year, as well as “Come and Try” days, where interested people are able to gain access to carriage driving and gain experience with an EA coach on all aspects of the sport. On another education note, an EA officials school was held at Grafton NSW for judges and technical delegates which was presented by Doug and Dot Willcoxson of Bungendore NSW. 16 attendees were present, including ridden dressage judges who were wanting to upgrade to L2 Judge. The coastal area of the Horse Driving Trials Club membership is endeavouring to interest participants to their activities from Southern Qld, with small but growing numbers, and the inland group is working with the Northern Club (Tamworth) to hold joint horse driving trials. There have been several successful events and 2013 is looking at having more events in new areas. AELEC Tamworth is a venue that the inland sub-group has communicated with through the management and the local eventing club. As most obstacles from the marathon phase of an event would have to be moved after use, portable obstacles have been designed and a proto type built that can be packed away after use. Discussions are occurring with the eventing club in the area as to the construction and use of the water jump/obstacle as well. A twilight event at the venue is schedule in February 2013 with the aim to have an Official event in November 2013. 1) Max Pearce driving Beauwood Rocky Road 2) Mark Peel and his team of four 3) Turned out to perfection Images by Max Pearce and Andrea Webb 1 28
