Equestrian_NSW_Yearbook_2012, our official media partner, filmed the Inter 1 freestyle as part of their coverage of the event and Alison Gill’s winning test on Bamborough Epic can be viewed on their website. 2012 also saw the inclusion of the new FEI Pony test and the Rising Star Novice test. Both these classes were offered to competitors as qualifiers for the finals which are being held at the Victorian Dressage Festival in December. Only riders aged between 12 and 16 are eligible for these classes. The aim being to encourage young up and coming riders on ponies to strive toward reaching the FEI levels. Both classes attracted considerable attention due to the fact that the winners of each of these classes took home $100 cash as first prize. At this year’s championships, both of these classes were sponsored by well-known A- level judge and pony dressage advocate Jill Cobcroft and the Australian Sports Pony Registry. The winners of the FEI pony test was Isabella Macnamara riding her 13.1hh gelding Eaglewood Celebrity while the Rising Star Novice test was taken out by Brianna Cartwright, once again riding Baringa First Class. On the second day of competition, it was preliminary, elementary and advanced levels who took centre stage. 1) 1st Sydney Evans and Dara Park Tequila Sunrise Novice 2D 2) 1st Stephanie Dijkstra and Kennedy WE Medium 4B 3) 1st Brianna Cartwright and Baringa First Class Novice 2C 4) 3rd Alison Cox and Tayco Sir Dynamo medium 4B 5) 4th Laura Galeano and Galhaven Euphoria Novice 2C 6) 5th Taylah Collins and Windchimes of Linden Medium 4B 7) 2nd Sarah Olsen and Samson Fine and Dandy Novice 2C 8) 2nd Kathy Turner and Rockfire U Turn Medium 4B 9) 5th Eve Allen and Oliver’s Fortune Novice 2D 10) 4th Jocelyn King and Burnham Brooke Bewitched Medium 4B 11) 3rd Shonagh Kelly and Summerwood Park Aspire Novice 2D Images by Photofinish 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 17
