3 4 5 Dressage - Bruce McVey Bruce is President of Alexander Park Dressage Club and has been on the committee for over 15 years. He also works as a volunteer steward at major dressage events, including the Sydney CDI, Australian Dressage Championships and NSW Dressage Championships. He also helps out at club dressage events in his region. In 2012 Bruce took on the role of coordinating the NSW Young Rider Championships at SIEC on behalf of Dressage NSW. Bruce is a traditional volunteer who is totally devoted to his passion, dressage. He is a born leader and has guided Alexander Park Dressage Club to make it one of the most successful clubs in Australia. Today the club boasts up to eight competition arenas in operation at their events, attracting competitors from many parts of NSW. His professional guidance, good humor, warm disposition and foresight have seen the club prosper and grow with the support of his committee for the past 15 years. Eventing - Alan de Courcy Ellis Alan was the cross country starter at 13 eventing competitions in 2012. Events include NSW Interschool’s, Sydney Eventing, Canberra, Sydney, Equestriad, Berrima and Silver Hills. Alan is always patient and encouraging to all volunteers and competitors, always happy to share his knowledge with others. He gives his time freely to many events, always arrives early assisting with radio set up and clock timing. Organising committees are always happy to see Alan as it allows them to concentrate on other aspects of the competition, knowing that Alan will ensure that the start of Cross Country is properly organized. Alan’s calm manner and consideration at the start is a positive influence on not only the riders but we suspect that many of the horses are very happy to see him also. Alan is a tireless and considerate volunteer who without a doubt plays a valuable role at every event. And the overall winner from these wonderful discipline finalists, chosen by a discipline representative section panel and the recipient of a Myer gift voucher of $500 is… Bruce McVey. Kylie was also prominent in managing the NSW team at Nationals this year. From attending the team meetings, distributing uniforms, decorating team stables, hosting team bbq’s and Kylie was the go to person when required by any competitor needing assistance.
