CopRice Interschool 2012 NSW Champions Yet again the ENSW 2012 Interschools Championships were a major success. With CopRice on board as the naming rights sponsor and as many entries as ever, our interschool programme continued to be the most exciting and fastest growing portfolio in the Equestrian NSW family. The champion secondary school at last year’s event was NEGS and the champion primary school was Quirindi Public School. All our champions in 2012 were nothing short of fantastic and proved what great depth and talent we have in our junior ranks – here we have the Olympic medallists of the future. • Junior Champion – Georgia Cottle • Intermediate Champion – Grace Kaveney • Interschool Challenge – Grace Kaveney • Senior Champion – Hannah Simmons • Vaulting Champions – Jarrod Boyle • Jumping Champion – Pia Boileau • Combined Training Champion – Matilda Seppelt • Dressage Champion – Hannah Simmons • Eventing Champion – Jaymee Tinney In Memoriam In 2012 equestrian sport lost some of its most beloved and prolific members, we cherish their memory and pay tribute to their wonderful legacy. • Judy Cubitt • Lesley Maxwell-Dowey • Sue Ryan • Clyde Wunderwald • Weltklasse • Centaur • Tex 5 6 Dressage Presented by Prue Spurrett, President, Dressage NSW Young Athlete of the Year - Grace Kay 18 year old Grace Kay has been riding since she was three years of age. She has a wonderful horse called Karingal Jamirquai, who she has competed successfully, with the help of coach Kim Petersen, since three and a half and is now competing Medium, and Celerity Park Faberge who is also doing very well in both dressage and jumping. He came fourth in the 4yo class at the Sydney CDI and then came fourth in the 5yo class at the Summer Classic. She also brought a little thoroughbred mare Gracefields Ava at the start of 2012 from a local sale yard who has done very well, she took her to the NSW Interschools Champs where she won the Showman challenge and equitation, came second in the Eventing, and third in the showjumping, with many wins eventing throughout the year. Athlete of the Year – Charlton Horseland Trophy - Matthew Dowsley Matthew started riding at the age of five at his parents riding school at Meadlow Bath near the Blue Mountains. His success in the dressage arena is legendary with multiple accolades throughout his career. In 2012 Matthew campaigned Flavio, Don De-Sandro, Falstermeyer and PSI De Caprio for many successes in the dressage arena at major competitions.
