4 5 6 Show Hunter of the Year - Hunterview Radiance Owner/Rider: Elizabeth Howard Radiance was purchased in late 2010 and began her show career in 2011. With warmblood breeding in an unusually small size, Radiance is a natural Hunter Galloway with her beautiful movement and sensible attitude. 2012 Highlights • ENSW Runner Up Large Show Hunter Galloway of the Year • EA Nationals Runner Up Show Hunter Galloway of the Year • Champion Preliminary Large Show Hunter Galloway Pacific Coast Hack Championships Elizabeth looks forward to 2013 and hopefully much more success and fun and thanked Equestrian NSW for such prestigious recognition and this wonderful award. Horse of the Year - Calvin Park Dark Knight Aka – Calvin to his friends. Owned and breed by Ken and Vicki Callaghan of Oakville, he commenced his saddle career in May 2009 with Mark Kenzig. Laura Ryn purchased Calvin in 2010 and she kept Calvin under the watchful eye of Mark with ongoing success over the next two years. At the ENSW HOTY state title 2012 Calvin Park Dark Knight, under a panel of judges, won the Large Galloway Class which gave him a ticket to the Equestrian Australia Show Horse and Rider Championships at Werribee. At this pinnacle of showing we saw a flawless show from the combination to win the National Championship Title for Large Galloway. Saddlehorse Owner of the Year Owner: Leah Walsh Leah has been showing horses in the showring since she was 8 years old and lives in Duffys Forest NSW with her husband Tim and two sons Cheyne 13 and Lyndon 10. Leah has enjoyed many successful show horses over the years but none more so than at the moment with AP Wizardry aka ‘Spider’, a brown riding pony galloway gelding foaled in 2005. Leah purchased a half share in Spider from Terrie Lamey in his newcomer year in 2009 and since then Leah and Terrie have been having the time of their lives showing and enjoying this magnificent horse who is arguably one of the best galloways in the country at the moment. 2012 Highlights • ENSW Champion Small Galloway of the Year • Royal Canberra Show Reserve Champion Galloway • Royal Canberra Show Champion ridden Australian Saddle Pony • Grand National Championships Champion Small Galloway • Sydney Royal Easter Show Champion Galloway • Sydney Royal Easter Show Reserve Champion ridden Australian Saddle Pony Vaulting Presented by Lyn Lynch, Chair of Vaulting NSW to present. Young Athlete of the Year - Lani Maher Lani had a great vaulting year in 2012 which started with a successful interschools event, with Lani placing first in A grade. The next highlight was the fun competition at the Scone Horse Festival. She was the highest placing female, second place overall. Lani took three months off her Year 11 studies to be part of Team Australia to successfully compete at Krumke, Germany, The World Horse Festival, Aachen and the World Vaulting Championships in Le Mans, France. At the end of 2012 Lani was ranked number 1 on the NSW leader board.
