The weekend kicked off with a vaulting display in the Scone Horse Festival street parade, which is colourful, fun and represents everything horsey, celebrating the beautiful horse capital of Australia, Scone. It was a great opportunity to promote our discipline to such a large equestrian audience. The competition then followed with two days of superb vaulting. Local media promoted this competition throughout the Upper Hunter which culminated in a great spectator audience from the district and beyond who favourably commented on this unique and entertaining sport. The horse classes were very competitive and the winners in the official classes in their grades were: A Grade: Lee Briggs, Southern Highlands, vaulting on Special Event lunged by Lyn Lynch. B Grade: Clare Watts, Medowie, vaulting on Senor Casablanca lunged by Linda Watts C Grade: Martine Fogg, Hunter Valley, vaulting on Spiritoso, lunged by Sharna Kirkham D Grade: McKeira Cummings, Ella Springs, Qld, vaulting on Louis, lunged by Lyn Lynch. Canter Pas De Deux was won with a spectacular performance by Sarah Grayson and Emily Jones, Sydney Vaulting Group, on Louis lunged by Natalie McNeil. Full results can be viewed on the EA website. It was great to see three very brave competitors in the Masters Class, Noelene Davis, Sue Wark and Danuta Paxton who impressed us with their skills and talent. Congratulations to the Boyle family with the support of Sydney Vaulting group for hosting such a fun event and we hope we can keep this one on our yearly calendar. ENSW State Vaulting Championships 2012 The 2012 ENSW State Championships were hosted in Canberra at the National Equestrian Centre, Kerrabee on Saturday 30 June and Sunday 1 July. The 65 competitors who braved the Canberra winter for the event included vaulters from Victoria (7) Queensland (8) and SA (1) as well as from all over NSW. The judges for the Championships were Chris Wicks, Robyn Bruderer and Tristyn Lowe.
