1 2 2011 ThinLine Dressage with Altitude CDI** and CDI-Y What a fabulous 2011 ThinLine Dressage with Altitude CDI** and CDI-Y event it was! Beautiful Bradgate Park in Orange was again on display and, as always, immaculately presented by the owners John and Bev Healey. John and Bev are an intricate part of the small team of organizers who have again put on a show of world class standard. The competition was fierce, the horses spectacular, 3 sponsors became even more generous as the event progressed, gracious FEI 4* judges and everyone – riders, spectators, grooms and volunteers – had a ball. The overwhelming number of comments received were all positive with everyone eager to return in 2012. Horses started arriving on the Monday, their riders keen to get as much familiarisation time with their horses as possible in this amazing indoor arena. The weather was a little unkind at times during the lead up days to the event but with only minor showers on the Friday the warm up areas proved very stable and resilient. Further improvements on the number of solid, permanent indoor stables has been undertaken by John Healey since the 2010 DWA event with the mezzanine of the indoor arena now fully covered to allow more trade stand area which was much appreciated by the ever growing number of companies eager to be involved in this special event. Thursday, day one of competition, saw the emergence of a rising star in Denise Rogan’s Virtuel. This gorgeous young bay horse is by Ritual and stands at 173cm tall. So amenable to the work in the Equitec Products Preliminary 1B scoring 80.40% and in the Kingsland Equestrian Riding Wear Novice 2B with another impressive 72.27%, the combination went on to take out the AusWest Seeds Highest Average % Award over 2 EA levels. Coming in at a very close second was another combination, set to make a real mark on the dressage scene, that of David McKinnon on the young and talented Bradgate Park Performance Horse – Bradgate Park Jatzz. 1) Cassia Montgomery and Ferero Rocher 2) Prix St Georges placegetters 3) Jeremy Janjic and Django of Cacharel 4 4) Alexis Hellyer and Waca W 8
