In the Saddleworld Canberra CIC2* it was another great result for Christine Bates and Delago. This combination has put together some fantastic results and have rarely been out of the placings. Shane Rose once again took a second ribbon this time in the CIC2* riding Virgil, with Emma Armstrong and Cassilis Park Pendragon third. It’s interesting to note that the winners of the CIC3* and CIC2* have both moved their horses up and down the grades a bit this year. Dropping them down a level for an easier confidence run and then moving them back up to give them a bit more of a challenge. In the WOW Saddles CIC* Claudia Graham rode Park 1 Street Vision to victory. Leading after dressage Claudia never looked back, adding nothing to their dressage score of 41.1. This combination will certainly be one to keep an eye on next year. Another horse with a great looking future is William Wordsworth, ridden by Amanda Ross. Canberra – 29-20 October ‘Willy’ as he is known won the CCI* at Melbourne this year and since then Amanda has worked on consolidating Canberra provided Dominic Ingvall with her first win at him at that level before moving him up to two star next CIC3* level taking out the Hewett Earthworks three star year. Third was Tim Boland riding Umunga, with Annabel class. Riding Kitara Diamond Edition Dominic was lying Armstrong fourth riding Lattitude. All the top four riders fourth after dressage but the pair flew round the cross finished on their dressage scores. country course with just 4.8 time penalties (the second fastest of the day behind Shane Rose) which moved them The top two riders in the Pine Ridge pre novice, Tallara up to second. After jumping a good clear round Dominic Barwick and Louise Barnes, also finished on their had to wait and see what the leaders of the class, dressage scores. Tallara, riding A Horse Called Wanda, Shane and Taurus, could do. With less than two marks led the dressage on a fantastic score of 34.2 while Louise separating the top two riders there was no room for error and Henry’s Dream sat third on another great score of and when Taurus took a rail down the win belonged to 39.6. Christine Bates and Lord Windsor dropped back Dominic. Tim Boland and the ever elegant GV Billy Elliot from lying second after dressage to third after picking up finished third. 2.8 time penalties from cross country and taking a rail down show jumping. It was a similar story in the Over the Top junior pre novice where Taylor Robertson riding PP Rouse About won the class after leading from start to finish. Bridget Crosato and Silenzio II started the weekend in second place after a dressage test which saw her score 43.8 and adding nothing to that score the pair remained second. Jamie-Rose Torzillo and Flash AZ were third. The preliminary class was split into three sections with Sophie Adams and Nadal taking the Farmline section A and Jessica Green the Farmline section B. Both riders finished on their dressage score, Sophie on 46.8 and Jessica on an impressive 33. In the Wallaroo Equestrian junior preliminary class Amy Dean and Kitara Ice Cool took home the winner’s rug. Like so many winners these days Amy led the dressage phase and cruised through the other two phases. Gone Main Event country and clear show jumping round!are the days where as long as your dressage was ‘ok’you could still hope to pull off a win with a good cross Photography Specialist Equestrian Photography Visit us at www.maineventphotography.com.au 1) Canberra CIC 1 star - Dom Ingvall to see all the images taken at recent events. 2) Shane Rose - Furdography 3) Jade Findlay - Furdography 4) Megan Jones - Furdography 46
