2 3 Equestriad – 21-22 May Musto CIC* Eventing Equestriad has got the ‘X’ factor. From the start In the first of the two CIC* sections it was good to see this event had all the right ingredients: knowledge of a mixture of young and not quite so young filling the top the sport, good contacts, top riders, great vision and a three places. Natalie Blundell took the honors riding Girl determination to run a really good, fun, classy event and with a Curl, while junior rider Madeline Wilson finished they are certainly succeeding. There were so many riders second on her dressage score of 53.1 aboard The Twisted doing other jobs, apart from riding, no one could complain Sista. Jenni Irvine-Brown, who has been very involved that these riders don’t ‘put back’ into their sport. from a coaching aspect with the junior development clinics put her words into practice finishing third just a Hume Coal CIC3* mark behind Madeline riding Jimmy Is Here. Following a disappointing run at Sydney, Tim Boland and Burwood Lodge CIC* GV Billy Elliot enjoyed a dream run at Equestriad starting and finishing at the top of the score board. Tim and Billy Sophie Adams riding Mercator Du Ry led from start to Elliot were the only combination to hit the 70% bracket finish in the second CIC* section after being the only on dressage day although hot on his heels was Stuart combination to score over 70% (70.87%) in the dressage Tinney riding the last of his three 3* horses, Panamera, phase and adding nothing to that score. Shane Rose on 69.49%. almost managed the same feat but he was two second over the optimum time cross country but it was still good Highland Drilling CIC2* enough for him and his ride, Virgil, to remain in their dressage placing of second. Third place went to Christan Riding Il Vici, Shane took out the CIC2* title and finished Trainor riding All Purpose Brown. Christan was one of only third on the stallion Statford Neo. Christine Bates and three riders to finish on their dressage score. Delago managed to stop Shane doing the one/two in this class as she remained in her second place dressage position for the weekend. With several good horses in her ‘yard’ Christine, who has been out of the top league for a few years, is now back with a vengeance and it will be exciting to see how her year pans out. 1) World Cup - Sydney Winner - Clarke Johnstone 2) Equestriad 1 star - Sarah English on Cil Dara Carlos 3) Equestriad 2 star - Laura Wallace on Hands Down X 4) Equestriad 3 star 4 - Stuart Tinney on Panamera 37
