Merchandising Guidelines: Christmas Shop Christmas Shop is the first department to open for the Christmas season. Each store will be provided with a: • Department Location Floorplan • Store specific planogram detailing floor fixture requirements and merchandise adjacencies • Christmas Shop Theme Tree Set-up Guidelines • POS Menu Sheets Visual Merchandising Head Office will provide this information through the Christmas communication. REQUIRED FIXTURES • G – Frames / Gondolas • Ample supply of prongs • Theme tree platforms /dais • MIT • Animation table • Christmas lights display frames x 4 GENERAL PRINCIPLES • Christmas Shop merchandise is not to be displayed outside of the department unless otherwise instructed by Visual Merchandising Support Centre. • All Christmas trees on display must be ‘fluffed’ before being placed out onto the floor. • Bulk stacking of boxed Christmas trees on the selling floor is not permitted. • A floor fixture is to be dedicated within the Christmas Shop for already reduced aged merchandise. All reduced aged merchandise items are to be red-stickered before being merchandised onto the allocated fixture. • All display lights used on trees are to be green wire clear bud lights that do not f ash and must be in full working order. • Shipping cartons (eg: cardboard, plastic wrap etc) must be removed from around all items. Under no circumstances are items (excluding ornaments) to be taken out of display cartons designed to merchandise particular products neatly. • Tinsel must not be used on Christmas tree on display unless stipulated on the theme tree set-up guidelines. • All electrical cords are to be concealed so that they do not pose as a trip hazard. • To create an overall ambience in the Christmas Shop, all stores are to have Christmas music playing at all times during trade. The music is to be provided by the Customer Service Support Centre each year.
