It was MIgnatius’ to World Youth Day (WYD) in Madrid, in August enhanced our experience and invited us to reacha conversion story for all. World Youth Day in Madrid has come and gone leaving From our accommodation at the university to the streets of an unforgettable mark on the boys, from Year 10 and 11, the city, our faith came alive and filled Madrid. Being with people from so many nations refreshed and rejuvenated our spirit. It was amazing to see how thousands of people could be united for a single cause and a single faith. Often in our world when masses move together it is because of war or conflict, yet in the case of WYD it was a movement impelled by peace, love and a sharing of faith amongst the young people of the world. I hope this contagious spirit will allow us to embrace differences, reach out to others and celebrate life more fully. Our own experience of WYD has been extraordinary. We were invited to follow three simple steps: Fostering a lifelong personal and spiritual journey, to participate in the life, mission and work of the community, and to live as disciple of Jesus in our world today.
