It is beige in colour and available in a 600ml sausage. Uses x Direct stick bonding of Engineered overlay (Prefinished and Bamboo) x Bonding most types of wood flooring, parquet, strip (solid, engineered and prefinished) & sheet timber to common flooring substrates such as concrete, pre-existing strip flooring, particle board, plywood, and MDF, HMR (HDF), FC (Fibre Cement) sheets. Features/Advantages x Gun grade adhesive x Sharp peaks when trowelled x Excellent adhesion to most building materials x Low VOC to meet Green Building Council requirements x Flexible x Good wet grab and initial hold Instructions for Use/Application Instructions The following should only be used as a guide and the installer should apply all Australian Standards, BCA/NZBC requirements, and best practices when installing a timber floor with Liquid Nails Flexistik HB. x All surfaces should be clean, sound and level to 3mm in 3m. Out of level floors will increase the risk of hollow spots under strip timber overlay. x Liquid Nails VBS Vapour Barrier is recommended over concrete before applying Liquid Nails Flexistik HB to prevent moisture migration and subsequent swelling of the timber overlay. Moisture content of the slab should be <5.5%, and moisture vapour transmission <15g/m2 per 24hr. x Concrete surfaces must have a finish equivalent to that obtained when using a steel trowel. x Grind concrete to remove high spots, surface contaminants and weak surface layers. x Sand timber substrates to remove contaminants such as old glue or surface finishes and flatten any raised joints. x Extrude adhesive using a 380mm sausage gun to the back of the overlay board or squeegee from sausage to the sub-floor surface. Only spread as much adhesive as you can cover in 20 minutes. Whichever method chosen, it is important to achieve at least 85% adhesive coverage between overlay and sub-floor to avoid hollow spots and drumminess. x If the adhesive is being applied to boost the under-foot feel of a timber floor installed with nails or staples as the primary fixing; then the adhesive may be applied in 5-6mm beads at 450mm centres perpendicular to the lay of the strip overlay. Gun applied: apply 5-6mm diameter beads across the back of the board at 60-70mm centres. This gives a good thickness for bridging and a good bonded area when the board is pressed into place and the adhesive is spread out under the board. Trowel applied: Use a 5-6mm v-notched trowel to achieve a 3-4mm peak at 13mm centres for strip overlay. This provides the optimal spacing and height for adhesive ridges for bridging any gaps between overlay and sub-floor and wetting onto the underside of the boards. Set strip overlay, parquet or sheet timber directly onto prepared adhesive with a minimum of sideways movement using adequate pressure to ensure adhesive contact on each individual board Fastening (or weighting) is recommended to secure timber during curing.
