Shorter times may be acceptable in good drying times. Protection Where the membrane is to be backfilled, such as with basement applications, Emer-Proof Ecoflex Anti-Root should be protected from mechanical damage with Impraboard or Emer-Proof Drain V drainage/protection system; also available from Parchem. Cleaning Product while in a wet state will clean up with water. Once dried, the product will need to be removed by mechanical means or with solvent cleaners. When cleaning with water, ensure water runoff does not enter drains. Splashes of Emer-Proof water based membrane on paintwork etc. should be wiped off immediately using a cloth dampened with a strong detergent solution. Brushes and brooms etc. should be soaked in a strong detergent solution immediately after application has finished. Hands and skin may be cleaned using a proprietary waterless hand cleaner, but prevention of soiling is a better practice by wearing gloves and overalls. Where Emer-Proof Ecoflex has been allowed to dry on equipment or surfaces it may be removed using either Solvent 10 or mechanical means. Maintenance No special requirements, any damage identified during normal inspections should be repaired or replaced as appropriate. Limitations Emer-Proof Ecoflex Anti Root is not resistant against the roots of large trees or large plants that are positioned in close proximity to the membrane surface. „ Not designed for use as a trafficable membrane. „ Not to be used in permanently submerged applications such as fish ponds or aquatic areas, as the root-inhibitor will kill fish. „ Not to be used as membrane under tiles, screeds, renders etc. where direct adhesion is required . „ If applying over other membrane surfaces, a compatibility test is recommended first to observe if there are any reactions of the dried membrane film over the existing surface. „ Not to be used in applications where water run off could be captured by water tanks (potable or non potable). Emer-Proof Ecoflex Anti-Root is not resistant to solvent surfaces or in contact with solvent based materials. Drying Times Recoat: 2 - 4 hours Dry film: 24 hours Backfilling, covering over: 4 days. Ensure surface is cured before back filling Based on normal ambient conditions of 23°C @ 50% r.h. Drying times @ 10°C – allow a ‘minimum’ 24 hours extra drying time on standard recommendations at this temperature. Please Note: Application of all liquid applied membranes and primers should always refer to the surface temperature conditions before commencing and not just ambient temperatures. (There are limitations to how hot/cold the surface temperature can be, when applying liquid based membrane or primer). For example: ambient temperatures may be 10°C but the substrate could be 0oC and have frost issues.
