It cures to a flexible rubber with good adhesion to most building materials. It is Grey in colour and available in a 300ml cartridge. Uses x Sealant for use on metals, most plastics, painted and unpainted wood, masonry x Wet, non-porous surfaces. x Metals with an oily surface film typical on new metals; e.g. Zincalume® and galvanised iron. x sealing or repairing roofs, awnings, skylights, ceramic tiles, gutters and downpipes, around window frames, plumbing entrances, vinyl or aluminium siding and roof flashings x Sealing leaks in recreation vehicles, and waterproof bedding for glazing. Features/Advantages x High performance copolymer rubber based for indoor and outdoor applications. x Universal sealant - adheres to most substrates. x Neutral cure - will not attack metal or concrete type substrates. x Adheres to many wet substrates, especially if pre-wiped with acetone. x Easy to apply and tool. x Offers good weatherability and resistance to U.V. light. x Good slump resistance. x Good paintability - can be over painted immediately. x Easy clean up with mineral turps. Instructions for Use/Application Instructions The following should only be used as a guide and the installer should apply all Australian Standards, BCA/NZBC requirements, and best practices when installing. x Surfaces to be sealed must be clean, dry and free from dust, grease, soap residues and flaking paint. If necessary clean with degreasing solvent such as white spirits. x Cut nozzle supplied at an angle and to the required opening. Cut end off nipple on cartridge, fit nozzle and insert in suitable caulking gun. x Apply sealant by gunning firmly into joint or onto surface in a continuous steady flow, pushing sealant ahead of nozzle. x For a neat finish, tool sealant surface immediately with suitable spatula dipped in turps. If tape is used for clean joints remove immediately after applying sealant and tooling. x Skins immediately. Maximum toughness is achieved slowly over several days. x When applying to wet materials, keep nozzle very close to surface so that the extruding sealant immediately contacts the surface and forces water away from the contact surface. For effective adhesion the substrate must start drying shortly after sealant application. x If adhesion to wet materials is difficult, wipe with rag soaked with acetone and apply sealant to the partially dry substrate. Adhesion may not be possible to some wet porous substrates such as some concrete or wood surfaces. Storage Store unopened cartridges below 300C in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. Unopened cartridges can be stored for 24 months from the date of manufacture. Clean up Spills and tools can be cleaned up with Mineral Turps or White Spirit.
