Concure AV is useful in all types of flat concrete applications, whether plain or coloured, machine or hand finished, including stamped concrete. Advantages „ Reduces and often eliminates the formation of shrinkage cracks in plastic concrete „ Gives superior finishing properties during unfavourable weather conditions „ Maintains a plastic and workable surface „ Prevents surfaces crusting Description Concure AV in its diluted form is a violet liquid dispersion of high fatty alcohols that reduce rapid water evaporation from the surface of freshly placed concrete. Concure AV will not discolour the finished concrete or leave any residue. It minimises formation of surface efflorescence. Technical Support Parchem offers a comprehensive range of high performance, high quality repair, maintenance and construction products. In addition, the company offers a technical support package to specifiers, end-users and contractors, as well as on-site technical assistance. Design Criteria Use after dilution with 4 parts of water to 1 part of Concure AV. 1 litre of undiluted Concure AV yields 5 litres of sprayable material that covers approximately 50 m² per application. The coverage rate may vary depending on the roughness of the concrete surfaces. Properties Data quoted typical for this product, but does not constitute a specification. Appearance: Violet coloured liquid Specific gravity: 1.03 at 25°C Colour: Dries clear Specification Clauses Evaporation retarder To reduce rapid evaporation of water from the surface of all concrete flatwork apply Concure AV immediately after initial screeding. The product Concure AV is supplied by Parchem and should be mixed and applied in strict accordance with the manufactures written instructions. Application Instructions Concure AV must be shaken vigourously before and after the addition of water. The reccomended dilution rate is 1 part Concure AV to 4 - 9 parts water. For optimum perfomance of Concure AV a dilution rate of 1 : 4 is recommended. Use normal hand or power spray equipment to apply as a fine mist to completely cover the concrete surface. Each application is important, and should be carried out after initial screeding. After the surface has been sprayed proceed with normal floating. When working in extremely hot or dry conditions further applications of Concure AV should be made after each subsequent operation, such as wood floating and steel trowelling. Cleaning Spillage or overspray should be wiped off immediately then rinsed with water. Stains can be removed with household type chlorinated bleach. Limitations Concure AV is not a curing compound as its function applies only to plastic concrete. Its use however will not affect the performance of subsequently applied curing compounds. Concure AV must be applied immediately after initial screeeding and uniformly to produce a continuous film that will not form if the surace is very rough. Concure AV should not be used when excessive bleeding is present or under conditions of high humididty. Concure AV will not prevent plastic cracking caused by pouring directly onto hot absorbent sub-grades. In such cases, the sub-grades should be wet down or covered with impermeable sheeting. Preferably mix only the amount of Concure AV required on a daily basis. If it is desired to use the Concure AV mixed on previous day shake or stir thoroughly before spraying. September 2007
