Suitable for application to brickwork, cement render, concrete, blockwork, fibre cement sheeting, plaster board and preprimed metals. It has excellent weathering properties and is resistant to mould and fungal growth. May be used as the top coat on a number of Emer coating systems, or as a multiple coat decorative finish. Design Criteria Emer-Acrylic Low Sheen is designed to be applied by brush, roller or spray over the selected primer. To provide an aesthetically pleasing low sheen finish with excellent protective properties and good hiding power when applied at the recommended application rate. Properties Colour: White and a range of decorative colours Form: Viscous liquid Volume solids: 42% Physical or chemical change: Dries by water evaporation Application temperature: 5°C - 40°C Drying (25°C, 50% RH) Tack free: Recoat: Fully dried: 1 hour 4 hours 7 days At lower temperatures or higher humidity drying will take longer. Maintenance No special requirements. Any damage identified during normal inspections should be repaired or replaced as appropriate. Specification clauses Where so designated on the drawings, surfaces shall have a high opacity, protective, decorative acrylic coating applied. The decorative coating shall be Emer-Acrylic Low Sheen. All surfaces shall be prepared, primed and the coating applied in accordance with the current Emer-Acrylic Low Sheen Technical Data Sheet. Application Instructions Surface preparation: All surfaces to be coated are to be clean, sound and dry, free of mould release agents, bond breaking coatings, curing compounds or any other contamination that may affect the coating. New concrete and rendered surfaces to be allowed to cure thoroughly before the application of any materials. Concrete surfaces should be smooth, any imperfections, pinholes etc. to be filled and surfaces made smooth with Emer-Patch (smooth) trowelled to an even finish. Moss or lichen should be removed physically, and the surface then treated with a solution of household bleach (1 part bleach to 2-3 parts water) to kill any spores. The bleach solution to be allowed to react for 10 - 15 minutes and then be completely removed with clean water and the surface allowed to dry. November 2012
